The rosary is first and foremost a prayer tool. Wearing it around the neck is possible if done with respect (reminder of faith, willingness to pray). If the purpose is purely aesthetic, prefer a “rosary style” necklace (Y-shaped) designed as jewelry, to avoid any ambiguity of religious use.
Depending on the intention, it can be a discreet sign of faith (reminder to pray) or a style choice inspired by the rosary (Y-shaped). If it is jewelry, it is rather called a rosary necklace: it is not a sacramental and is worn like a classic necklace, while maintaining a respectful attitude.
To pray and meditate on the mysteries of the rosary, find peace, entrust intentions, and keep prayer close at hand (home, travel, break). Many choose to have it blessed and to have one at home and a more compact one (dizainier) when traveling.
The rosary is used for prayer: generally 5 decades of beads with a crucifix, materials designed for spiritual use (wood, stone, metal). The necklace is jewelry: no imposed prayer structure, aesthetic purpose. A rosary necklace takes the aesthetic (Y-shaped chain), without necessarily being suitable for rosary recitation.
